Irene O Carroll

Irene was an avid Lady Volts and Atlanta Braves fans. She was instrumental in bringing girls recreational sports to Kingsport. Irene enjoyed flower gardening, cooking and jigsaw puzzle working. She was most proud of being called “Bama,” a name given by her grandchildren, by everyone who loved her. She spent most weekends supporting her great grandchildren at their sporting events.

Irene is preceded in death by her loving husband, Roy Kyle Carroll, father Elmer Overbey and mother Pearl Overbey.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Brock (Bob Brock), Kim Blankenship (Robert Blankenship), granddaughters Christina Bevins (Brad Bevins), Candra Lane, and Atlee Warren. Great grandchildren, Reece and Raigan Lane. Sister Ellen Birchfield, brother Buddy Overbey (Linda Overbey), niece, Robin Painter, along with several close friends who will cherish her memory.
