Gene gave Eastman Chemical Company 35 years of dedicated service as a pipe fitter and a welder and then continued his career at Flora Daniels until he retired. He enjoyed golfing, handyman work, his dogs, woodworking, watching Alabama football, and volunteering his time at Warriors Path golf course. Gene was a past Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge in Kingsport. He never met a stranger and made friends everywhere he went. He often traveled from his home in Kingsport, Tennessee to visit family in Augusta, Georgia and Summerville, South Carolina. He always had a story or some wisdom to tell. He and Carolyn had a love like no other and have finally been reunited to live together happily for eternity.
