John Hankins (“Bob”) age 82 of Kingsport, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the Indian Path Medical Center. Mr. Hankins was a Elizabethton native and the son of the late Jack Hankins and Myrtle Williams Hankins-Hinkle. He was a former employee of Clemmons Transportation Services, and a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. Mr. Hankins proudly served in the United States Air Force during WWII.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Edna Hankins, brothers: James H. Hankins and Jesse Lee Hankins.
Survivors include sisters-in-laws: Dalmyra Boardwine and Ina Fuller, along with several nieces and nephews.
At Mr. Hankins request, there will be no public services. Burial will be private.
