~ Abraham Lincoln
Jordan Bland, age 28 of Kingsport, entered into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. Jordan was born on September 7, 1988 to Mr. Wynston Bland, Jr. and Mrs. Julie Douglas Bland in Kingsport, TN. Jordan was studying for a psychology degree at ETSU, as she had a heart of wanting to help those in need.
Jordan loved helping people. Her spirit of unselfishness guided her to seek out those who were in need. Her desire to help others was inspired by God’s word in which we are told, “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” - Matthew 25:40
Jordan was a life-long member of Shekinah Full Gospel Church and she found solace in reading and spending time with her family.
Jordan was preceded in death by her father, Wynston Bland, Jr.; and her paternal grandparents, Wynston Bland, Sr. and Mildred Ann Bland. Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Julie Bland; Aunts and Uncles, Dr. Cindy Epps and husband Bishop David Epps, Mark Douglas and wife Connie, Jeff Douglas and wife Linda, and Shelly Jackson and husband Tim; maternal grandparents, John Douglas and Bette Douglas; and numerous loving family members and church family members.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at 11:30 am at Shekinah Full Gospel Church, located at 394 Glory Rd, Blountville, TN 37617, with Pastor Sue Curran officiating. Interment will follow at 12:30 pm at Shekinah Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jordan’s family and church family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Samaritan’s Purse, located at PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607. (828)-262-1980.
