

Juanita McClellan Hamilton, 85, passed away during the morning hours of Sunday (November 13, 2016). Juanita was born on August 6, 1931 to the late C. Vernon “Jake” & Ova Edith “Georgia” Williams McClellan in Sullivan County.
Juanita was a member of Pentecostal Powerhouse in Gate City, VA. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend; she will be greatly missed.
Juanita was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Charles Robert Hamilton; foster parents, Roy C. & Elda Bates Williams; biological parents, C. Vernon “Jake” & Ova Edith “Georgia” Williams McClellan; two brothers, Charles V. McClellan II and Ronald W. McClellan; sister, Elizabeth Bellamy; and one great-grandchild, Mason Darnell.
Those left to cherish her memories are son, Bobby W. Hamilton & wife Jean of Kingsport; two daughters, Mary Quinn & husband Brian of Chapel Hill, NC and Linda Nickels & husband Randy of Blountville; brother, Jackie McClellan & wife Christine of Kingsport; foster brother, Dwayn Williams & wife Judy of Gate City; four grandchildren, Rachel Darnell & husband Mark of Kingsport, Steven Hamilton & wife Amanda of Kingsport, Heather Kern & husband Nathan of Haw River, NC, and Melody Rose & husband Zak Goad of Chicago, IL; four great-grandchildren, Bryson Darnell, Dustin Kern, Cody Kern, and Skylar Kern; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends for a closed-casket visitation on Tuesday (November 15, 2016) from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Dwayn Williams officiating.
Committal services will be held Wednesday (November 16, 2016) at 10:00 a.m. in the Garden of the Well at East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport, TN.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Alzheimer’s Association (2020 Meadowview Parkway, Suite 100, Kingsport, Tennessee 37660) or to Pentecostal Powerhouse (288 White Pine Lane, Gate City, VA 24251).
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Brookdale Colonial Heights, who have been extended members of our family for the last five years; also to the staff of Amedisys Hospice Care (especially Stacie and Rosanna).
