Juanita Tankersley

Juanita Tankersley, 90, of Blountville, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015 at the Cambridge House in Bristol, TN. Born on August 31, 1924 in Knoxville, she was the daughter of the late William Preston Davis and Edna Maude Carter Davis. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Blountville since 1956. In addition to her parents, William Preston Davis and Edna Maude Carter Davis, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Truy Tankersley; sisters, Mildred Sams, Alma Davis and Aline Rutherford; and brothers, Herbert Davis, Donny Davis and Leonard Davis. She is survived by her sons, Lionell Gary Tankersley, and Terry Tankersley and his wife, Kitty; granddaughter, Christie Ferrell; grandson, David Tankersley and his wife, Charla; great-grandchildren, Marcus and Matthew Tankersley; brothers, Bill Davis, Bob Davis and Richard Davis; and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday evening, January 22, 2015 at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Dwight Shaffer officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 23, 2015 in the Garden of Everlasting Life I of East Lawn Memorial Park.The family would like to thank the nursing staff at the Cambridge House and Broadmore Assisted Living for their care and compassion they expressed to Mrs. Tankersley and to her family.
