

Julia Peters, age 87, of Kingsport, Tennessee, entered into rest of Friday, February 10, 2012 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Rathie and Hazel Ketron Reed. Mrs. Peters was of the Pentecostal faith. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. “Pete” Peters, a sister, Irene Shields and a great great granddaughter, Kaylee Franklin. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother to a large and caring family. Her family was very important to her and she will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her daughters: Jean Radford and her husband Phil, Brenda Light and her husband Bob, Donna Warner and her husband Don, and Sandra Kaye Peters; sisters, Frances Henard and Kathaleen Ramey; grandchildren: Steve Franklin, Karen Henard, Scott Franklin, Darryl Light, Jeff Warner, Julie Couch and Brian Light; great grandchildren: Whitney Hancock, Matt Franklin, Autumn Harris, Jaden Henard, Wesley Franklin, Savannah Franklin, Zachariah Couch, Ally Franklin, Avery Light, Jake Light and John-Pearce Light; great-great grandchildren: Brady Hancock, Brysen Hancock, Brylea Harris, Bevin Hancock, Baylor Hancock and Zander Harris, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home on Sunday, February 12, 2012 from 5:00 pm. until 7:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Joe Barber and Rev. David Peters officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Granddaughters, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
