Laura Jane McCarty

Laura Jane McCarty, age 66 of Kingsport, passed into eternal rest during the morning hours of Tuesday, December 1, 2015. Laura was born to Charles & Beatrice Jones on April 4, 1949 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. She resided in Portland, OR most of her life, later moving to Kingsport, TN to be closer to her family.

Laura loved knitting, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Laura will be greatly missed. She leaves a legacy of love and friendship for her friends and family.

Laura is preceded in death by her father, Charles Woodrow Jones.

Laura is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Richard Edward McCarty II; two sons, Tim McCarty & wife Renea of Kingsport and Edward McCarty & wife Mariah of Portland, OR; mother (100 years young), Beatrice Johnston Jones; two sisters, Doris Lesinski & husband Jerry of Clermont, FL and Marsha Jakubowski & husband Donald of Richmond, MI; three grandchildren, Denae, Eric, and Cora; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Per Laura’s request there will be no services at this time.
