

Margie Marie Carter, age 84 of Kingsport, was welcomed into Heaven by her Lord and Savior on December 24, 2015. Margie was born to the late William Musser and the late Annie Mae Morely Musser on April 2, 1931 in Sullivan County, TN. Margie married Jesse Hubert Carter and after 59 years of a happy marriage, he preceded her in death in 2007. Margie loved sewing and spending time outdoors. She was a devout Christian and she could often be found reading her favorite book of all, The Holy Bible. Margie was a housewife for her entire adult life; raising her children was one of her top priorities in life.
Margie is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband; one son, Jerry Carter; three sisters, Francis Jones, Ruth Schaffer and Letty Fleenor; four brother’s-in-law; Roy Schaffer, Tim Jones, Monroe Bozarth, and Charles Parker; one brother, Gilford Musser; and one sister-in-law, Beulah Musser. She is survived by four sons, Jess Carter and wife Sharon, Jack Carter and wife Charlotte, Larry Carter and wife Kathy, and Bennie Carter; two sisters, Mary Bozarth and Martha Parker; one daughter-in-law, Betty Carter; and one brother-in-law, Charles Fleenor; nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; and special friend, Judy Carter, who graciously served as her caretaker for over eight years.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 28, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. immediately following visitation in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Andy Sensabaugh officiating. The True Faith Quartet will be bringing special music and serving as pallbearers will be Jason Carter, Josh Carter, Brian Carter, Jonathan Carter, Brent Carter, and Cody Edwards. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Tri Cities Memory Gardens located at 2630 Highway 75, Blountville, TN 37617.
