Marie E Townsend

Marie E. Townsend, age 78, of Kingsport, entered into rest July 1, 2011 at the Wexford House. Born in Kingsport, a daughter of the late Emmitt R. Early and Mary F. Cobb Early, she was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. Marie was retired from the Eastman Corp. and was a member of Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Robert Townsend and a brother, Kenneth Early. Survivors include two sons, David Townsend and his wife Patsy, Jeff Townsend, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one great-great- grandchildren, four sisters, Wilma Reynolds, Shirley Dolen, Harriett Chapman, Linda Flanagan, several nieces and nephews, including a very special nephew, Jacob Harkleroad. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday at East Lawn Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
