

Maxie L. Pippin, age 93 of Kingsport entered into rest on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Brookhaven. Ms. Pippin was a Coeburn, Virginia native and the daughter of the late James and Evelyn Riddle Sexton. She was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses – West Kingsport Congregation. Ms. Pippin was an avid gardener and loved to work with her flowers; her faith centered around her life, and her favorite past times included spending time with her family and her grandchildren. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Rex Pippin; sons: Joe Pippin and Paul Pippin; brothers: Vernoy Sexton, Elmer Sexton and Robert Sexton.
Survivors include her son, Robert Pippin; brother: Billy Sexton and wife Bessie Lou; grandchildren: Bobby Pippin, Timmy Pippin, Lori Graham, Billy Pippin, Angie Spitler, Lisa Kodak, Joey Pippin and Justin Pippin; several great grandchildren; sister-in-law Rubye Pennington, along with several special nieces and nephews.
A Gathering honoring the life of Ms. Pippin will be held on Friday, July 27, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. in the East Lawn Funeral Home chapel. A Memorial service will follow at 6:30 p.m. with Greg Sexton and John White officiating.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Jehovah’s Witnesses-West Kingsport Congregation, 1033 Lake Street, Kingsport, Tennessee 37660.
