Mike Dunford

Mike Dunford, 52, of Kingsport, a loving husband, father, brother and friend, passed from this life into eternity at his residence on Thursday, December 26, 2013. Mr. Dunford was a Kingsport native and the son of Clarence and Bernice Dunford. Mike was employed by Universal Tool as a machinist, and was an active member of the First Assembly of God in Kingsport. He proudly served his country from 1979-1983 in the United States Air Force. Mike loved riding his Harley, enjoyed boating and sports. He was a die-hard U.T. and Dallas Cowboys fan.

Survivors other than his parents, include his loving wife, Kent Dunford, sons: Patrick Dunford, Matt Dunford and Brandon Bledsoe; sisters: Joni Trompak and husband Steve, Susan Leach and husband Lee and Leslie Briggs and husband Bob; several nieces and nephews: Laura Ward, Christy Trompak, Carrie Rowland, Ben Rowland, Bobby Briggs, Addison Briggs and Will Briggs; mother-in-law, Faye Carrington; brother-in-law, Ran Carrington, along with several wonderful and cherished friends.

The family of Mike Dunford will receive friends on Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. The graveside service will be conducted on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Garden of Peace II in East Lawn Memorial Park. Everyone is asked to assemble at the gravesite by 10:45 for the service.

Flowers are welcomed, but for those who prefer, memorial donations may be made in Mike’s honor to the charity of your choice.
