Opal May Richards

Opal May Richards, age 89 of Church Hill, TN entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on January 14, 2016. Opal was born to the late Patton Adams and the late Inzia Boinson Adams on June 5, 1926 in Duffield, VA. She married Mr. Davey Richards, and together they raised their beautiful family. After many years of a beautiful and happy marriage, he preceded her in death on February 9, 1975.

Love was always in Opal’s home. She loved her family beyond all measure and she was always willing to help those in need. Her family was her life and her loved ones have been blessed with such a great legacy that continues to live within their lives today.

Opal is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Davey Richards; one son, Bill Richards; and her brothers and sisters. She is survived by one son, Steve Richards and companion Brenda; two daughters, Shelia Richards and Brenda Lane; six grandchildren, Michelle Richards and companion Andy, April Owens and husband Bobby, Tim Lane and wife Jessica, Anthony Lane and wife Adriann, Aaron Richards, and Ashley Richards; great grandchildren, Tiersa Doughtery, Dakota Ketron, Crystal Westmoreland, Cheynne Owens, Kayla Lane, Kenny Lane, Amber Lane, Hunter Lane, and Hailey Lane; two great-great grandchildren, Lyric Harper and Brayden Westmoreland; and one special sister-in-law, Nancy Adams.

There will be a graveside service on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. Due to inclement weather, the service will be held in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Brother Charles Bishop officiating.
