Rudy unselfishly served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked at Eastman Kodak in Kingsport TN. and the Naval Shipyard in Newport News, VA. He retired from Phillip Morris where he started as a machinist and worked his way to floor manager. Always working with his hands, Rudy enjoyed making models of tanks and other military vehicles which he sold worldwide. He loved music, movies, college football, playing chess and various games but most of all, spending time with his family. Rudy also enjoyed reading about everything with history and philosophy being his favorites.
Left to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Monique Martin & boyfriend Paul Hudson, Michelle Smith, Holly Bumgarner & husband Tony; two sons, Nathaniel Martin and Brian Martin; five grandchildren, T.J. Scott & wife Alysha, Vanessa Smith & fiancé Jacob Call, Isabela Smith, Chloe and Adrianna Bumgarner; and special friends, Guy Horn, Ellis Marshall, Sammy Jackson, and John Hartley.
