Warner Edwards

Warner Edwards, age 86, entered into rest August 16, 2013 at Indian Path Medical Center. Born in Scott County, VA to the late Daniel C. and Nancy Bishop Edwards, Warner was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. He retired as a maintenance supervisor with 46 years of service with General Shale Products. Warner was a member of the Homeland Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by a son, Gerald Edwards; and a grandson, Tony Edwards. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Bernice Edwards of Kingsport; two sons, Larry Edwards of Kingsport, Bobby Edwards and wife Jan of Blountville; one daughter, Carolyn Greene and husband Endle of Kingsport; five grandchildren, Keith Edwards, Dawn Bailey, Shannon Hall, Kevin Greene, Kristie Greene Smith; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Glenna Edwards; sister-in-law, Neva Edwards of Fall Branch; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home, funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. J.W. Depew officiating.
