

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira & Emily Haney; a brother, Burton Haney; and a sister, Donna Haney.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 54 years, Lola Mae Haney of Blountville, who took care of him during his illness. He is also survived by his 3 sons and daughters-in-law Gary & Denise Haney of Knoxville, TN, Ron & Vonda Haney of Charlotte, NC, and Don & Anna Haney of Knoxville,TN. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren: Miranda & Hannah Haney, Lindsey Haney, Thomas Haney, Valerie & Benjamin Haney, and Jamie Haney.
Mr. Haney is also survived by 2 nieces, Mary Haney Alls of Blacksburg, VA. and Sue Haney Moore of Mechanicsville, VA, and a nephew Buddy Haney of Riner, VA.
Mr. Haney was an employee of Sears for 23 years until his illness caused him to retire. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He was a veteran of World War II in the Army Air Corp. He enjoyed the music of Glenn Miller and was a fan of UT football and Atlanta Braves baseball.
Visitation will be held at East Lawn Funeral Home on Friday, December 3rd, 2010 from 1-2pm; following with a graveside service at 2:30pm at Gunnings Cemetery with Pastor Larry Murphy officiating.
