Yolanda Townsend

A devoted homemaker, Yolanda dedicated her life to her family, creating a home filled with warmth, care, and cherished memories. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering love, and the deep bonds she formed with each generation of her family.

Yolanda is survived by her daughters, Teresa Cassell and husband Roger, and Tonya Holmes and husband Jeff. She was the proud grandmother of Katheryn Locke and husband Alen, Justin Harvey and wife Audrie, Rebekah Price and husband Chase, Michael Wilson and wife Shayna, and Elizabeth Hall. She is also survived by her step-grandchildren, Grace Cassell and Matthew Cassell, and was blessed with eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Townsend; her parents, David Bowery and Virginia Burke; and her sisters, Nadine Dufey and husband Richard, and Sherri Burke-Goolsby.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow on Monday, April 21, 2025, at 6:30 PM, also at East Lawn. A committal service will take place on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Mountain Home National Cemetery in Johnson City.

Yolanda’s legacy of love, strength, and family will live on through all who were fortunate to know her.
