Charles Vernon Goetsch

Charles Vernon Goetsch of Bishop, Texas, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2012, at the age of 50. He was born on April 12, 1962, in Kingsville, Texas, to Leverne Wesley and Barbara Clark Goetsch. Charles loved to build things. He was an owner and instrument technician at Goetsch Music Company. From the time Charles was 12 years old, he could work on pianos. Later in life he learned to repair band instruments, guitars, organs, many other musical electronics and even clocks for residents in Kingsville and the surrounding areas. He was actively involved in B.P.O.E. (Elks) Lodge No. 1926. Charles will always be remembered as a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Teodoro Rodriguez; brothers-in-law Theodore Rodriguez, Jr., Thomas Rodriguez and sister-in-law Anna B. Ortega; paternal grandparents Vernon and Maude S. Goetsch; maternal grandparents, Charlie and Zoe Anna Clark.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 15 years, Mary Goetsch of Bishop; his parents, Wesley and Barbara Goetsch of Kingsville; brother, Bobby (Eve Wu) Goetsch of Sugarland, Texas; mother-in-law, San Juana Rodriguez of Bishop, six sisters-in-law; Ofilia (Alvaro) Pena, Janie (Bob) Odom of Kingsville, Ovy Morales of Farmers Branch, Texas, Alice (Jeff) Pollitt of Matairie, La., Irma Rodriguez and Nelda Rodriguez, both of Alice; three brothers-in-law, Tim (Janie) Rodriguez, Michael (DeLydia) Rodriguez and Mark Rodriguez all of Bishop; three special nephews he loved and helped raise, Michael (Lily) Rodriguez, Joshua (Liz) Rodriguez and Jeremy Rodriguez all of Kingsville; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special dog, Chico.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2012, from noon until 9:00 p.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 8, 2012, at Retama Park Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service at Chamberlain Cemetery.
