

Lawrence A. Scarborough, age 66, a resident of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012 in Corpus Christi. He was born August 28, 1945 in Kingsville to James S. Scarborough and Martha Ficklin Scarborough. He graduated from Texas A&M University - Kingsville with a Bachelor of Science degree. Mr. Scarborough taught biology, physics and chemistry at Premont Independent School District. After his retirement, he was a substitute teacher in the Kingsville area. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam Era. His happiest moments in life were sailing with family and friends. He also enjoyed playing bass guitar in his church band.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his son, Craig Scarborough; parents; and stepfather, Julius Berg.
He is survived by his children, Wendi Scarborough of San Antonio, Texas, Beau Scarborough (Lucinda) of Cibolo, Texas, William Scarborough of Dayton, Ohio, Suzanne Rodriguez (Alex) of Kathleen, Georgia, Martha Longoria (Jay) of Kingsville, Richard Scarborough (Gabriela) of Cibolo, Billy Bowdle (Norma) of Kingsville and Ricky Zornes of Florida; one brother, James Scarborough IV (Jane) of San Marcos, Texas; one sister, Sheri Dunaway (Jim) of St. Paul, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Coastal Bend Fellowship, 1500 East Caesar Avenue, Kingsville, with Rev. Noe Trevino officiating. Burial of cremains with military honors will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas at 11:45 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
