Leticia G. Castaneda

Leticia G. Castaneda, age 57, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 surrounded by family and friends. She was born in San Benito, Texas on October 7, 1954 to Anselmo Garza and Hortencia Sosa Garza. Mrs. Castaneda was employed as a bookkeeper for Bealls Deparment Store, Kingsville, until her retirement.

Mrs. Castaneda was preceded in death by her mother, Hortencia Sosa Garza; and brother, Jose Anselmo Garza.

Leticia is survived by her husband of 31 years, Manuel Castaneda III of Kingsville; one daughter, Rachel R. Salazar and husband Ricardo of San Antonio, Texas; one son, Manuel “Manny” Castaneda of Kingsville; father, Anselmo Garza of San Benito, Texas; four sisters, Sylvia Cavazos and husband Ruben of LaFeria, Texas, Nelda Rendon and husband Fred of Harlingen, Texas, Yolanda Campos and husband Jose Luis of San Benito and Olga Garza and husband Frank Hernandez of Harlingen; three brothers, Eddie Garza and wife Emma of San Benito, Reynaldo Garza and wife Maria of Harlingen and Enrique Garza and wife Velma Nora of Sebastian, Texas; and in-laws, Manuel C. Castaneda Jr. and Carmen Castaneda of Kingsville.

Public visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 5, 2012 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Servando Torres Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Kingsville at the Santa Gertrudis Cemetery.
