Manuel Gutierrez

Manuel Gutierrez, age 59, a resident of Kingsville, Texas passed away Friday, October 8, 2010 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born in Bishop, Texas on April 9, 1951 to Ramiro Gutierrez and Jovita Gonzalez Gutierrez. Mr. Gutierrez was employed as a Branch Chief Equipment Specialist at Corpus Christi Army Depot until his retirement. Later he was employed for Texas Boll Weevil Eradication Program. Mr. Gutierrez, a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam Era, was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Kingsville, and the American Legion - Post 185, Bishop. He was also an active member of the Veterans of Kleberg County Military Funeral Detail.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Eloisa Gutierrez of Kingsville; four daughters, Michelle Gutierrez and Emily Garcia, both of San Antonio, Texas, Lorie Ann (Jose III) Perez and Valinda Nykole (Adrian Alaniz) Reyna, both of Kingsville; one son, David Anthony Gutierrez Sr. of Kingsville; seven brothers, Reynaldo (Refugia) Gutierrez of George West, Texas, Jesse (Rosie) Gutierrez of Ricardo, Texas, Ramiro (Mary) Gutierrez Jr. of Houston, Texas, Amador Gutierrez of San Antonio, Texas, Daniel (Sylvia) Gutierrez and Anselmo Gutierrez, both of Kingsville, and Roberto (Yolanda) Gutierrez of Premont, Texas; six sisters, Raquel (Jose) Flores of Ricardo, Ramona (Ruben) Mechell, Norma Linda Rangel and Patricia Gutierrez, all of Bishop, Mary (Jaime) Lopez and Delia (Robert) Garcia, both of Houston; and 11 grandchildren.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel, Kingsville. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Kingsville, with Fr. Jose Naul Ordonez as celebrant. Burial will follow in Bishop at the St. James Catholic Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Veterans of Kleberg County Military Funeral Detail .

Honorary pallbearers will be Chayo Lopez, Steve Garcia and Jaime Lopez. Active pallbearers will be Leopoldo Rangel, Ramiro Gutierrez III, Stephen Garcia, Adrian Alaniz, Joel Lopez and Jose Perez III.

Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
