

Ronald E. Lemmons, M.D., age 77, a resident of Loyola Beach, Texas passed away Monday, April 11, 2011 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born in Austin, Texas to Gilbert K. Lemmons and Ruth Prichett Lemmons. He attended Virginia Military Institute before entering Tulane Medical School, New Orleans, Louisiana. He was Board Certified in General Surgery and practiced medicine for 50 years including many years at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Kleberg. He served as Chief of Staff at several hospitals during his career including Lyster Army Hospital in Fort Rucker, Alabama. He served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam Era. Prior to his death, he was a volunteer physician at the Riviera Clinic.
Dr. Lemmons is survived by his wife, Miriam Lemmons of Loyola Beach; two daughters, Linda Lemmons of Corpus Christi and Robin (Joseph) Jones of Menifee, California; three sons, Robert Lemmons of Dallas, Texas, Mark (Deb) Lemmons of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Kevin (Kathy) Lemmons of Keller, Texas; one sister, Sherea Hopping of Littlefield, Texas; five grandchildren, Taylor Lemmons, Michael Lemmons, Erin Jones, Kyle Jones and Scott Jones; and two special friends - one cat, Marley and one dog, Jack.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the Community Baptist Church, Riviera, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Helping Hands Fund, in care of Sister Elizabeth Smith at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Kleberg, 1311 East General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas 78363.
Services are entrusted to Turcotte-Piper Mortuary, 205 General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville, Texas.
