Victoria M. Salazar

Victoria M. Salazar, of Kingsville, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at the age of 76. Victoria was born on January 2, 1935, to Luis and Martina Mendietta at Laurels Ranch, Texas. She spent her time making a home for her family. Victoria was a devoted wife, mother grandmother, sister and friend. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Victoria was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of fifty-four years, Juan G. Salazar.

She leaves to cherish her memory her eight children: Juanita S. Flores of Kingsville, Juan (Janie) Salazar of Bishop, Texas, Jose (Yolanda) Salazar, Luis (Sylvia) Salazar, Flavio (Hilda) Salazar, Herminia (Bud) Fite, Leonel (Delma) Salazar and Noelia (Rudy Trevino) Olvera all of Kingsville; one sister, Dominga Villanueva of Alice, Texas; twenty-three grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 23, 2011, from 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on December 24, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Romeo Salinas as celebrant. Burial will follow the service at Resthaven Cemetery.
