

Iris Martha McKay peacefully passed away in the Fillmore Health Center on Saturday, April 15, 2023. She had her 89th birthday in March and had recently enjoyed a lovely visit and gathering with her family to celebrate.
Iris was predeceased by husband Ken as well as by her brother Lloyd (Pat) Hill and her sister in law Irene Hill. She is also predeceased by Ken’s family.
Iris is survived by her 5 children and their families: Gordon (Gwenn) McKay, Marilyn Anaka, Elaine (Brent) Baker, Donnie (Mona) McKay, Robbie (Amber) McKay; 11 grandchildren: Andrew (Angie) McKay, Michael (Kristin) McKay, Adam Anaka, Kyla Anaka, Nathan (Alison) Baker, Sheena (Adam) Noppen, Jesse (Sophie) Baker, Jordan McKay, Tanaya McKay (Evan Richter), Trustyn McKay and Aspen (Shalimar) McKay; 8 great grandchildren: Brawn and Piper McKay, Jack and Jameson McKay, Evelyn Baker-Mapp, Zealynd Anaka-Selinger, Cara Noppen and Reese Noppen; Iris is also survived by her brother Don Hill.
Iris and Ken raised their family of 5 children on their farm near Corning. Iris enjoyed curling and golf. She was also an avid gardener. She and Ken made many family trips to the mountains and enjoyed camping. They encouraged their children in many sports and activities. Later they retired to their home in Windthorst. Iris enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always interested in their activities.
A public funeral service to celebrate the life of Iris McKay was held in the Corning Community Hall on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 2 p.m. with funeral celebrant Monica Dayman. A private interment with her family will be held at a later date.
