ROSE BURKOWSKI - On Tuesday, January 10, 2012, Rose Burkowski widow of Steve Burkowski, Regina, SK., formerly of Glenavon, SK., died at the age of 86 years with family at her side. Rose’s life was busy with her seven children and farm work. Initially living in Regina, and armed with experience from work in a bakery, she talently sewed, tastefully cooked, baked and gardened. Flowers were a passion, as well as music, dancing and the Catholic Faith. She loved get togethers and dinners with her immediate and extended family. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary R.C. Church, Glenavon, SK. On Friday, January 13, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. by the Rev. Aguinaldo Fermo. Prayers will be held in the Church Thursday evening at 7:00. Interment in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish Cemetery. Predeceased by her husband Steve in 2010, granddaughter Dawn Englot, three sons-in-law; Kelly Maccan, Jim Wightman and Julien Englot, her parents, John and Catherine Hozempa, three brothers: Allan, Peter and Joe Hozempa, one sister Vera Yates. Rose is survived by her family Carol Maccan, Margaret Englot, Marilyn Wightman, Linda Burkowski, Debbie (Darryl) Callfas, Larry Burkowski, and Ron (Lorie) Burkowski, sixteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, one sister Emilie Hozempa and her nieces and nephews.
