Yvonne Francis Richards

On Tuesday, March 1, 2011, Yvonne Francis (Hall) Richards, widow of Robert (Bob) Richards, Wawota, Sask., passed away peacefully in her 97th year. The funeral service will be held in the Wawota United Church, Wawota, SK., on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Michelle Moore officiating. Cremation with interment in the Wawota Cemetery at a later date. Predeceased by her husband, Bob in 1974, her parents Phillip & Isabelle Hall, one daughter, Jean Pryce (John) in 1993, brothers, Dick Hall (Eileen), Alex Hall (May), Ken Hall(Pam), sister, Thelma Kidson (Ernie), brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Osman, Ed Richards (Ruth), Bert Richards (Mary), Roy Richards, (Esther) and May Carlill. Yvonne is survived by her children, Cliff ( Roberta) Richards, Cochran, AB.; Douglas (Ann) Richards, Kelvington, SK.; Roy (Terry) Richards, Regina, SK.; and her grandchildren and great grandchildren: Jay (Sara) Freeman, West lock, AB., and their children, Don Marie, Michael, Colin; Allen (Norma) Buettner, Serial, AB., and their children, Blake, Branben, Grayson; Carla Richards; Eric (Cheryl) Richards, and their daughter, Ila; Mark Richards ; Krista (Corrie) Kelln, and their children, Logan and MiKayla; Kara Richards (Nolan Hubbard) and their children, Chase and Morgan; Shawna (Terry) Ross, and their children, Deagen and Brett; Derek Richards; Travis Richards; and Robert (Gisele) Holloway and their children, Julia and Breanna; and her sister-in-law, May (Alex) Hall. Yvonne and her husband Bob farmed in the Wawota area and retired to town in 1973. Yvonne traveled extensively with friend Lucy Green, To such places as California and Disney Land; Hawaii, Alaska, Maritimes, Mexico, and British Columbia, as well as the Yukon. She was always willing to go if there was room in the car. She really enjoyed the group that got together to celebrate birthdays, the morning phone check for are you okay, cards and coffee. Thank you from our family to all who made Grandma's life so enjoyable in Wawota that she had to get back and could only spend a short length of time at our places. Wawota was home!
