

Montalvo, Carmen Carmen Montalvo, 76, Greenville Estate, passed on March 31, 2011. She was born in Dulce Labio, Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Born to the late Jacinta Medina Bisbal and the late Marco Rosado. She married the late Miguel Montalvo in 1960. Together they raised their five children. Carmen was honored as the first Hispanic Teachers?? Aide in the Boston Public School System. She was a strong advocate in starting the English as a Second Language (ESL) program in Boston. She retired to Kissimmee in 1990. She is survived by her five children and their spouses: Joaquin, husband of Carmen Correa; Rosalinda Carrasquillo, wife of Joseph Bruce Pulliam; Marguerite Perez, wife of Julio Marquez; Miguel A., husband of Bernadette Montalvo; Alminda (Mindy), wife of Roberto Velez. Eight grandchildren: Yolanda McLean, David L. (Shannon) Correa, Jaime L. (Hina) Correa, Robert Velez, Jr., Joseph L. Correa, Alyssa E. Montalvo, Corinne Montalvo and Bruce Jerrell Pulliam Two great-grandchildren Xavier and Yasmin Correa, a sister, Lillian Camacho, of New York; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home & Crematory, 803 Emmett Street, Kissimmee, with Pastor Jose Nieves officiating.
