

Haydee Cardenas, 85, of St. Cloud, Florida, passed away on February 17, 2015. Haydee was born in Santa Clara, Cuba on February 25, 1929, to Jose and Caridad (Gonzalez) Cardenas. She was affectionately know as "Mima" by those who knew and loved her. She was a faithful servant of her loving God, Jehovah, for 23 years. She greatly enjoyed sharing in the house-to-house preaching work she shared in as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Mima was very kindhearted and giving, always helping everyone she could at every opportunity. Family was very important to her and she was known for spending hours on the phone keeping in touch with her family in New York, New Jersey, Florida and Cuba. Anyone that knew Mima, knew she loved to eat and had a fondness for food.
She was proceeded in death by her mother-in-law, Rosa, whom she viewed and treated like a real mother and was by her side constantly until Rosa passed away in her arms. She was also proceeded in death by her sister-in-law, Elsa, who she considered to be and treated as her younger sister. And she was proceeded in death by her ex-husband, Jose Luis, who she spoke with nearly every day. Even though they were divorced, they remained close and dear friends.
She is survived by her brothers, Wilfredo and Arjelio Cardenas, her sister, Adelfa Cardenas, her son, "Luisito" George (and his wife, Maltilda) Diaz, her daughter, Deborah (and her husband, Paul) Thomas, her three grandchildren, Noah, Lauren and Natalie and great-grandchildren, Bentley and Isabella . brother-in-law, Rene, her sister-in-law, Marbelia "Mayo" and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses – St. Cloud, on Sunday, February 22, 2015, at 6:30 pm.
