Irene Singer

Irene Singer, 97, of St. Cloud, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020. Irene was born in Luzerne, PA on July 26, 1923 to Elliott and Margaret (Rinus) Miller. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 72 years, James “Jim” Singer. Irene was the consummate caretaker. She loved nurturing her family and friends and they loved her for it. After spending much of her life traveling the country as a U.S. Marine Corps wife, she and Jim retired to Chittenango, New York and were members of American Legion Post 1287. They then moved on to Kissimmee, Florida where they enjoyed cruising the Caribbean and spending time with family and friends. Irene and Jim became members of Sherwood Community Church and were volunteers at Osceola Medical Center for 15 years. Irene is survived by her children, Marilyn (Kurt) Hollenbeck and James (Charma) Singer, Jr., 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Irene is also survived by 2 sisters, Margaretta Shorts and Florence McBride. Private burial will take place at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at the convenience of her family where Irene will rest in peace with her beloved husband, Jim.
