Marcia has been my friend and dinner companion for five years.  She was an important part of our group of politically savvy old folks at Westminster Towers .  We sang together in the Westminster Singers.  She told us about her children and grandchildren and how they came and cooked Thanksgiving Dinner in her apartment.  She wore her granddaughter's t-shirt and we always had conversations about the young folks in our families.  She and Crabby were boaters, just like me!  I sent her a lovely teacup full of bright flowers to cheer her when she moved to assisted living. She was keenly interested in my singing with the Orlando Gay Chorus and was always reminding me of my rehearsals.  She cheered me on.  We went together to vote, which was important to both of us.  She took care of my flowers while I was away.  There are so many memories, and we will miss her, but we saw that it was time for her to be released from the difficulties of her last days, and we are happy for her that she is at rest after a long and wonderful life with many happy memories.  Rest in peace, dear friend. We were surely there at the same times, but did not know each other until I moved to Westminster Towers)

I have fond memories of a Thanksgiving at Marcia and Harold's house in the countryside near Urbana with the Evan's and Blacks' families. Snow was on the ground and it was wonderful day thanks to the hospitality of Marcia and Harold.
My thoughts and prayers go to all her family members.

Mrs. Crabtree was always considered part of our family. She was such a beautiful, caring and sweet woman. We always enjoyed all the time we were able to spend with her. Our deepest condolences to her family and friends. I came to know Aunt Marcia later through marriage. She and I had something in common since both she and my dad were reporters for the Urbana Citizen. The last time we were in Urbana Mike and I went searching for the family homes including the Crabtree house on Route 68. I have fond memories of the gatherings we had there.Aunt Marcia was full of grace and guts. She had a knack for turning a house into a home. Her decorating style was impeccable but you always felt like you were in a house meant to be lived in. Crabbie and her gifts were thoughtful and personal- homemade cracker mix or little ornaments hidden in the popcorn they grew. And that smile- she would hear a laughable comment and the corners of her mouth curled up. With her loss, we descend to the next generation. We lose our inspirations, stories of generations gone and constant unending love. You could tell that love for you Tom and Rob as she updated us on both of you and your families. She was so proud. And she had a deep palatable unending love, caring and need for your dad. It showed when they gazed at each other even if just for a moment. Aunt Marcia lived with gusto and lived full. What I mean by lived is she grasped on to where and what she wanted to be and went for it. Whether family, job, political stance or having fun, she seemed to have a ball. A life well lived and to be remembered and cherished.

Aunt Marcia was a visionary when it came to women's rights while she fulfilled her role as a traditional wife and mother.  I always looked forward to her visits or when we took a trip to Wooster or Urbana or Orlando to see the Crabtree family home.  And wow how she could make beautiful a house--- she created Architectural Digest worthy homes in several states. She and Uncle Crabby were a loving couple I called God Parents.  Always happy memories.  A very sad day as this event marks the end of an era.  Luckily we still have her two sons and their families to carry on the Crabtree tradition!!

Where to begin? As far back as I can remember..she was always the favorite aunt! Dressed sharper than anyone .... always on top of her game...! Up until a month ago she could discuss politics like nobodies business! Loved those conversations! Love you Aunt Marcia!  Kris
