Marilyn J Willis

Marilyn J Willis, 89, of Haines City, FL passed away April 22, 2020. Marilyn was born to the late Elmer and Elizabeth Gruhlke on March 18, 1931 in Sandusky, OH. She was raised in Castalia, OH and is a 1949 graduate of Margaretta High School. She worked at Providence Hospital as a unit secretary for many years and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Marilyn and her husband, Emory Willis, enjoyed travelling. They later moved to Kissimmee, FL where Marilyn continued to work as a unit secretary at Osceola Regional Hospital until she retired. She became an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kissimmee.

Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, Emory and her sisters, Mabel Dauch and Elizabeth Ayers. She is survived by her son, David (Gwen) Breither; daughter, Paula (David) Sanford; sister, Alice Lehmann; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Marilyn loved to cross-stitch and playing the piano. She was very independent and enjoyed her freedom. Marilyn also enjoyed cruising on the water with her daughter. She will be missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service for Marilyn will be held at a later date in Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd or Vitas Hospice in Florida in Marilyn’s name.
