Richard Timothy (Dick) Turner, age 88, of Kissimmee, FL, passed away on March 21, 2013. Richard was born in New York, New York on August 14, 1924 to Richard T. and Marguerite Turner. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II, and upon discharge, returned to school and earned his Ph.D. in Education. He worked as a teacher, then Assistant Director of Research for the New York City Board of Education until retiring in 1979. After moving to Kissimmee, he worked as a substitute teacher, property appraiser and carousel operator at Old Town. Richard is preceded in death by his brother Lawrence Turner and sisters Mary Lee and Lorraine Chocolate. Along with his loving wife Sandra, Richard is survived by daughter Amy (Barry) Weiss; brother Matthew X. Turner; sister Marguerite McDonnell; and many nieces, nephews and other family who will miss him dearly. At his request, there will be no services. An inurnment for Richard will take place at Florida National Cemetery (Bushnell, FL) at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Grissom Funeral Home and Crematory www.GrissomFH.com
