

He received his Bachelors and Masters degree in Communication at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. Steven was a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity. While at NIU for his Masters, he met and married Lori (Jacobs) Netti in 1995.
After the wedding, they moved to Florida to work for Disney. However, he discovered his true love and talent, teaching, in 1998 at Rockford College, Rockford, IL. The bulk of his career was spent in Vincennes, IN at Vincennes University in the Speech and Theater Department. He was also active outside the classroom, advising campus Greek organizations and participating in countless campus activities until his early retirement in 2014.
Steven's love for Disney then took him back to Florida, where he and Lori spent lots of time in the Disney parks and at Sea World. Although retired, he couldn't give up teaching. Since living in Florida, he has been teaching and loving students at Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL.
Steven was a natural at fixing cars, was a licensed pyrotechnician, and had a knack for learning how do anything he needed to, such as maintaining a pool or conquering Florida bugs.
Steven is survived by his wife, Lori; his father, Sylvester and stepmother, Lyn Netti of St. Petersburg, FL; his sister, Luisa Stiggleman of Carmel, IN; his step-siblings, Jeff (Kim) Skelley of South Elgin, IL and Johnny (Karen) Baumgartner of Geneva, IL; brother-in-law, Steve (Stacy) Jacobs of Middleton, WI; nieces and nephews, Emma, Kelly, and James Stiggleman, Jeffrey and Nicholas Skelley, Brenna, Brian and Sean Baumgartner and Evan Jacobs. He is pre-deceased by his grandparents, mother, aunts, and uncles.
There will be a visitation at 6:00pm followed by the service at 7:00pm on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Illuminate Church offices, 1134 Celebration Blvd., Celebration, FL.
