

Willie Mae Walker Dirickson was born on January 4th, 1944, in Savannah, Georgia, to the late Willie Walker and Gussie Mae Etheridge Walker Singleton. She grew up with a strong foundation of family love and Christian values that guided her through every season of life. She married her late husband Edward S. Dirickson in 1977, whom she spent 33 loving years with.
Willie Mae was educated in the Chester, Pennsylvania school system and continued her education through the Philadelphia school system. Her commitment to learning reflected the same dedication she later brought to her work and to her faith.
For 26 years, she worked for Conrail Railroad as a key punch operator, where her reliability and steady character were known. Yet more than her career, Willie Mae was deeply devoted to serving God and strengthening her church family. She served on the Usher Board at Deliverance Evangelistic Church in Philadelphia, participating faithfully in ministry and fellowship, and demonstrating her love for others through service.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Dirickson, brother George E. Walker, Esquire, and by her sisters, Mary Alice and Marie.
Willie Mae leaves to mourn two daughters: Tracey M. Scott and Margaret “Sissy” Foster, along with her son-in-law Pete Foster.
She also leaves five brothers: Ronald Walker, Sr.; James Singleton; Bryant Walker; Thomas Walker;and Eferen Norfus, as well as a sister-in-law, Patricia Walker.
She leaves three grandchildren: Darnell Scott Sr., Darryl Scott Jr., and Tiffany Foster. She also leaves a host of four great-grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends who will cherish her memory.
Her personality kept people laughing, and she had a no-nonsense way of telling stories. In the summertime, you could find everyone gathering at her home for pool parties. Later in life, she enjoyed travel to places such as Palm Springs, Las Vegas, and Disney World.
Willie Mae’s life was also marked by devotion, perseverance, and unwavering faith in Christ. She will be remembered not only for the love she gave, but for the way she lived as an example of Christian strength, service, and family commitment.
