So sorry to hear of the passing of Gladys. She left Kapuskasing many years ago, but we stayed in contact.  She was a woman of courage and determination. I will remember her happy disposition and sense of humour.  Rest in peace my dear friend

So many fond childhood memories of the nights and Christmas's spent with Aunt Gladys and Uncle Les...her brother Grant on guitar and she belting out " Ring Of Fire ",...recording tapes to send to her brother Lorne who was stationed in Germany...playing Rummoli etc,etc..but most of all , remember the excitement in her eyes when she and my mother Mary went to see Elvis at Maple Leaf Gardens ! She was a warm.loving and caring woman, full of life, exuberance and laughter...R.I.P Aunt Gladys

So sorry to hear of Aunt Gladys' passing.  She always had a big smile and a laugh ready and will be remembered with fondness.

It is with a heavy heart that I send my condolences.  Aunt Gladys and Uncle Les were like my 2nd set of parents when I first lived in Toronto.  I will always treasure the memories of those years.  May you and your families find peace from the love that is surrounding you.

Things I learned from my Mother,
1. Never go out without putting lipstick on
2. Makeup is fun
3. Don't go to bed with dirty dishes in the sink
4. The stories in the Enquirer must be true or they could not print them
5. Don't wear white shoes or pants after Labour Day
6. Always have your own bank account
7. Iron your pillowcases and tea towels
8. Dress up when you fly
9. Johnny Cash knows all
10. Forgiveness is hard, do it anyway.

I have many fond memories of Auntie Glady's visiting our family. She always had a bright smile and a warm presence. I bet she is sharing a joke with my dad up in heaven now.

Wish I could be there with my family to share in the happy memories of my Grandma. May Johnny Cash be serenading her for eternity.
