

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 9th, with his family by his side after a short illness. Born in Saskatoon in 1925, Gord lived most of his 85 years in Waterloo, Ontario and enjoyed the last 16 years summering in Young’s Point Ontario and wintering in Orlando Florida. Married to Beverley Statham (née Ayer) for 16 years. Married to Betty Statham (née Adam, d. 1982), he was the proud father of two children: Donald (Sylvia) and Robert (Theresa), and his much-loved grandchildren Christopher, Amy, Andrew (Terra), Ryan, Emily, Jayme, Mitch, Matt, Zac, Connor, Matteo, Alina, Bradley and Dylan. Gord felt blessed to have a second family in his life. He will be missed by Bev’s children Sally (Tom), Nancy (Dave), Sue (Chris), Rob (Wendy). Gordon will be fondly remembered by many long-time friends.
Gord was involved in the car business at Kaye Ford Sales for many years and was an avid fisherman and golfer. He was a long time member of Westmount Golf and Country Club. Gord loved to travel and enjoyed the last number of his years travelling the world with his lovely wife and companion Beverley. His friends and family cherished his sincerity, warmth and sense of humor and he will be greatly missed.
Special thanks to the Angels of Flight Medical team and the Medical Team of the ICU Unit of Peterborough Regional Health Center for their excellent care and compassion towards Gord.
In keeping with Gord’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service followed by a reception will take place at Ratz- Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, Ontario N2G 1C7 on Tuesday, November 15 at 11am. A reception will follow at the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre.
