I feel bad I didn't know of Stan's passing.  I just reconnected with an old classmate who told me this morning.  The passion never stopped always constant.  Stan loved his students and helped me graduate 6 months early.  He was an amazing man.  I'm sure Clark, Kasem and Stan are comparing notes about something funny.  Miss his "Ooohhh Baby!

Truly sorry to hear of Stan's passing.  A voice you never got tired of listening to and inspirational and above all a classy man right to the end.  All the wonderful comments in these posts don't surprise me at all -- He was the genuine article.  My deepest words of support for the Larke family.

It has now been more than half a year since Stan's passing and Dee and I still talk about him, Jeannie and the family. I first met 'Little Uncle Stan' when CJRH in Richmond Hill went on the air on July 1st, 1957. He was in sales and also hosted Buckskin Bandwagon with a live c&w band every Saturday morning. I was the control room operator.
Our paths crossed several times over the next 45 years with the longest stint being at CKEY where he was Production Manager. When Stan took over at Humber College his legend grew as students from his course appeared in various radio jobs in and around Toronto... all raving about their favourite teacher and mentor. I last saw Stan and Mitch in Kitchener in 2011 and the smile, the humour and the twinkle in his eyes were still there despite losing Jeannie the previous year and the problems with his diabeties. References to 'gypsy savage' that others have included in their memories comes from a politically incorrect song from back in the 60s that Stan and I used to listen to in the back control room (it never got to air). That, and a thousand more memories, are what I have of this wonderful friend.

I will miss me great grandfather Stqn larke but i know that he'll be in a better place. Your son Mitchal and all of us in the Larke family will deeply miss u and we hooe for the better

I studied radio broadcasting at Humber College where Stan was the head of the program.  He was always fun to listen to with his advice and how it was for him.  I can only imagine what he was like to be around all the time if you were a family member.  R.I.P.  - Andrew McLellan (TX)

Please accept my condolences.  Stan had a huge impact on myself as well as a large group of students in the Humber College broadcasting program.  We will be forever indebted to Stan for his words of wisdom and fantastic outlook on life.

I was a student of Stan's along with a super bunch of Humber College Radio Broadcasting Certificate students. Stan's passion for broadcasting was infectious. I am glad I 'caught it'! I will remember him especially for his passion for radio, his wisdom and his many shared stories. My deepest condolences to his family and thank you for your kindness, and spirit of generosity.

Stan was always ready to go the extra mile for his students to help ensure their success. Unlimited laughter and learning. His attitude was contagious and always positive. Rest in peace, thank you for laying the foundation and leading the way.

I am truly saddened to hear of Stan's passing.  Stan was part part of the   incredible Radio Broadcasting staff at Humber College from 1979 to 1996.  His passion for our students, his historical knowledge and insight to the Broadcast industry paved the way for so many including myself.  There was never a day without his enthusiasm, his 'Ooh Baby' and other 'Stan-isms' that didn't bring a smile.  He is looked upon as one of the key reasons the Humber Radio Broadcasting program is still the best in the country.  Even after his retirement, and did he really retire.... he shared the many ideas he had..on sales, education, gardening, etc.  I will miss him.   My thoughts are with the entire family.

Hands down the best teacher I had. Many of the lessons he taught me, I still pass along to young broadcasters today. Stan's ability to see the potential in someone and never let up on you until you saw it yourself was an amazing talent.

Stan was one of the most important mentors in my life. Formally studied "radio" at Humber College with him but learned so much more about life from him.
Will be missed but never forgotten. I daily pass some of his teachings on to my students now.

I am so sorry to hear of Stan's passing....I spent many years working with him at CFCO in Chatham....He will be greatly missed...the Gardening world will never be the same....RIP Stan.....

Stan was the first instructor I met at Humber College's Radio Broadcasting program, and I liked him immediately.  It was hard not be excited about the business when you saw how excited he was just talking about the radio industry.  An inspiration to many budding radio personalities, Stan will be missed but not forgotten by many of us students.  Stan's not gone - just signing off for now.

I am deeply sorry to hear of Stan's passing. I am so thankful that he was part of my life. As a student at Humber College, Stan always made me feel welcome, talented and positive about the future.
I loved talking with him and I loved just listening to him talk about radio. His incredible energy for it was so, so evident, every single day. His infectious passion was - and remains - a memorable motivator for people like me who were fortunate enough to call Stan Larke a mentor. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Stan.
