

Scholtis Walter: Peacefully in his sleep at St. Mary’s Hospital on Wednesday October 30, 2013 at the age of 92. Loving husband to his wife Betty for 70 years. Walter will be deeply missed by his children, Larry Scholtis and Linda Thomson and her husband Ross. Grandpa will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Larissa, Lisa and Maria as well as his great-grandson Jordan and his daughter-in-law Marivic. Walter was a Veteran with the Royal Canadian Army and the Royal Canadian Navy. He was a longtime employee of Onward Manufacturing Company, an active member in the community as well as participating in the many activities at the Breithaupt Centre and was a faithful member of the choir at St. Matthews Lutheran Church for over 50 years. Walter was a Scoutmaster and District Commissioner serving for over 30 years. He took scouts to Jamborees in Europe, the USA and the Caribbean. His Love for the outdoors was reflected during the many camping trips his took with his scout troop. He was acknowledged with an award at Queen’s Park by Hilary Weston, Ontario Governor General for his years of dedicated service. Walter and Betty enjoyed many years of traveling together and with a close group of friends. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, 51 Benton St. Kitchener on Sunday November 3, 2013 from 1-4pm. A funeral service to celebrate Walter’s life will take place in the funeral home chapel on Monday November 4, 2013 at 11am with Rev. David Malina officiating. Interment in Memory Gardens, Breslau.
