William (Bill) Homer

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of their beloved father Bill after a courageous battle on March 9, 2010 at the age of 76. Predeceased by his loving wife Barbara (1994), his parents Thomas & Emily, his brother Derek and his great grandson Will. Loving father to Cliff (Brenda), Donna Wylie (Don), Liz Hennebry (Dave), Linda Heier, Doreen Clemens (Mike). Bill will be sadly missed by his 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Survived by his step-mother Florence Homer, sisters Myrna and Kathy and brother Jack. Bill was a longtime employee with the Waterloo County Board of Education until his retirement in 1996. Visiting will be held at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener on Friday, March 12, 2010 from 1:00 p.m until the time of the Funeral service in the Chapel at 2:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Parkview Cemetery. A reception will be held in the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lung Association (Pulmonary Fibrosis) would be appreciated.
