Alma Joyce Marshall

Alma Joyce Kizer Marshall, aged 85, passed away at Tennova Physicians Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tn. on Monday, December 4, 2017 with family and friends by her side. Joyce and her husband, Joe, were tireless volunteers for children and adults with disabilities in Tennessee. They were avid campers and loved to travel. They were members of New Hope Presbyterian Church, Knoxville.

Joyce was preceded in death by husband Joseph Marshall Jr. and her three brothers, Donald, Roger, and Kenneth Kizer. She is survived by her older daughter Carolyn Marshall Marks and son-in-law Keith Marks, her younger daughter, JoAnn Marshall, and her grandchildren, Joshua, Logan and Jessica. Surviving also is brother Leroy Kizer and his wife Helen of Dalton, Georgia. She also has several surviving nieces and nephews and their families in the East Tennessee area and around the United States as well.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 11, 2017 from 1:00 to 2:00pm, with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00pm in the Westwood Chapel of Berry Highland Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery. Services officiated by Pastor Brad Palmer.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made, in Joyce’s honor, to the Autism Society of America, East Tennessee Chapter, P.O. Box 18494, Knoxville, TN 37928.
