

A devoted member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Alvin spent 39 years employed with Caterpillar in Aurora, Illinois, and employed 15 years with the Plano Postal Service. He was an avid bowler, a lover of card games, and a loyal fan of the New York Yankees.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Vivian Love; his twin brother, Alvie Love, and his grandson, Drew Love.
Alvin is survived by his loving wife, Judy Love, sons Jim (Nancy) Love, Ken (Charmaine) Love, and Dwayne (Susan) Love, ten grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. He is also survived by stepdaughters Ronda (Darrell) Hardin, Tracye (Tim) Foster, and Shannon Wilson, two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. He leaves behind his sisters Marilyn “Peanuts” Hoffman, Shirley McKeand, and Judy (John) Brown, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at UT Medical Center and the caring team at Lifecare Center of Jefferson City.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Berry Highland South, 9010 E. Simpson Road, with the funeral service to follow at 12:30 p.m., officiated by Bobby Province. Interment will follow in Berry Highland South Cemetery.
