Amani Yacoub, 52, of Knoxville, TN, passed away on March 16, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, and a bright spirit who embraced life with open arms, spreading joy and warmth to all who were lucky enough to know her. Amani’s zest for life was contagious, and her presence could light up any room. Known for her massive hugs and an unrelenting capacity to love, she lived each day with purpose, celebrating every moment and cherishing her family and friends with all her heart.
Amani was an active member of her church community, where she found deep fulfillment in her faith and in helping others. Her involvement in church activities allowed her to connect with those around her in meaningful ways, and she built lasting relationships through her kindness and generosity. In addition to her commitment to her faith, Amani was also an avid soccer mom. She dedicated countless hours cheering on her children, Sophia and Noah, from the sidelines, always offering encouragement and support. Her love for her children was evident in everything she did, and she played a pivotal role in fostering a sense of community among fellow parents and families.
Amani had a special connection to the ocean. During her time living in Miami Beach, she developed a deep love for the sea and its tranquility. Every year, she made it a point to spend time by the ocean with her family and friends, creating cherished memories and embracing the natural beauty that surrounded her. These moments by the water were a reflection of her love for life and the people she held dear.
Amani’s love for her family was immeasurable. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 15 years, Mark Bashraida, and their children, Sophia and Noah, who were her pride and joy. She also leaves behind her parents, Amin and Nadia, her brother, Joe, and a circle of friends who were more like family. Amani’s selfless nature and unwavering support made her the cornerstone of her family and community. Her laughter, kindness, and the comfort of her embrace will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege to know her.
In the face of a long illness, Amani’s bravery was unmatched. She fought with grace and strength, never letting her circumstances define her spirit. In the end, it was her love and positivity that stood as a testament to her remarkable life.
May heaven welcome Amani the way she welcomed all of us—with open arms, boundless love, and the warmth of a hug that will never be forgotten. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she loved.
