Anthony Thomas Burgess

He was the son of Connie Burgess and the late Elmer Burgess. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son Grant Burgess, brothers and sisters-in-law Scott (Brenda) and Butch (Dawn), special aunts June Jones and Mary Garbee, former wife, good friend and mother of his son Melissa Burgess.

He is a graduate of Farragut High School, University of Tennessee and David Lipscomb University. He had a successful career as a high school math teacher and an Environmental Engineer until his health forced him to retire.

Anthony enjoyed activities with Grant including building model trains, gardening, fish aquariums, grilling steaks and playing with their dog Bingo.

A Celebration of his life will be held Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 1pm at Concord Park - Shelter #6 with Rev Nancy Twigg officiating. A cook-out will follow the service.
