

Arlie Bruce Cureton, 81, of Knoxville, TN, peacefully entered his eternal home on March 14, 2024. Bruce was a member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Bruce was a retired member of the City of Knoxville Fire Department for more than 30 years, serving as Chief of the Department for 15 years. Bruce was a lifetime member of the International Fire Chiefs Association, and he served in the Tennessee Air National Guard.
Preceded in death by his loving wife, Glenda Cureton; parents, Pat and Mary Ellen Cureton; brother, Eddie Cureton; sister, Linda Winn, and stepdaughter Tracy Farmer.
Survived by daughters, Melissa Cureton (Anthony), Mary Beth Cooper, Jennifer Buckner (John); stepson, Mike Lawson; son-in-law, Ted Farmer; grandchildren, Alanna Farmer, Sam Clanton, Jordan Norton (Noah), Jenna and Joli Buckner; great grandson, Kyson Norton, and numerous adored cousins, nieces, and nephews; special friend and former executive assistant, Vicky Dalton.
The family will receive friends on March 19, 2024, 12:00 to 2:00 pm at Berry Highland Memorial, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37919, with a funeral service and interment to follow. Officiated by Charlie McNutt, honors by the Knoxville Fire Department Honor Guard.
