On Sunday January 29th 2023, Audrie Quinn Cooper-Fortner was sent to the Heavens and became an angel to help God with the good work. Audrie was 9 years old, born on March 26th, 2013 at 3:43 PM in Asheville North Carolina. Daughter of Mary Souder (Haley Cooper) and John Fortner, Big Sister to Evelyn Rose Cooper-Fortner. She attended Luttrell Elementary School up until her 4th grade year where she was homeschooled.
With only being able to bless us with 9 years, Audrie was able to steal and fascinate so many hearts and minds. She was an old soul, when she spoke to you it felt like you’d known her your whole life. She just “got it”, she understood, could feel when anyone’s emotions were off and she would do anything to try and make you better. Audrie was so beautiful, creative, and was an ingenious and passionate little girl. She loved to make paper doll houses out of boxes and made a refrigerator, food, tables, shelves, beds, and her own characters for it!
One of her passions was art, notebooks upon sketchpad after the next all kinds of different drawings all different kinds of styles. Audrie’s absolute favorite food was Shrimp Ramen Noodles with salt, pepper, and Tony Chachere’s creole seasonings. She also enjoyed eating hot fries, grapes, taki’s, chicken tenders. We use to make Frittatas all the time together, she loved the whole process of cooking. But her all-time favorite was candy, she would sneak it and hide the wrappers anywhere she could stick them. Morgan Wallen, boy was Audrie a super fan! She especially liked his music because not only was he good looking, he also sang songs about God and one thing Audrie was devout about was her Faith and love for Him. But country music isn’t the only genre she liked, she loved all kinds of music like Metallica, Doja Cat, Christmas music anytime of the year, Falling in Reverse, Tyler Childers, Rocky Top, Lizzo and the list goes on. Anime was a big staple in Audrie’s life and her favorite one is My Hero Academia, and she had blankets and so many posters and knick-knacks of the characters. She enjoyed being outside and loved rocks, seashells and sticks, she would ALWAYS bring one home after a lake day, creek day, hike, walk, beach vacation and even the back yard sometimes too! She was also a professional Tree Climber, if she seen a very difficult looking tree she would say “hey I could climb that!”. Nerf gun wars with her sister and uncle Jackson was something she loved to do; Audrie could be very competitive if it was something she was interested in. Going to the Christmas Tree Farm with her grandma and grandpa, getting hot chocolate and ornaments made was one of her favorite traditions because we would always cut the tree down ourselves and she LOVED quality time with family. Audrie had 2 fish, ones name was 640-East Right Here On The Road, and the other Jason Vorhees. If that doesn’t say how cool she was right there, then I’m not sure what would! Our silly silly girl with the imagination of a visionary. Her smile was like seeing a rainbow on a rainy day, her presence radiated love and light. There will never be anyone like Audrie Quinn Cooper-Fortner, no one can compare to her she was one of the most unique little girls ever.
Most of all, Audrie Quinn had the biggest heart for such a tiny little human. She cared for all things living and dead, animal, human, alien, bug… She would handle everything with so much care and thought. Audrie often took up for the underdog in situations and always had the best intentions in mind. Her personality was both introvert and extrovert, calm and hyper, silly and serious. If she believed strongly about something, she stood by what she said and wouldn’t give up until she had the last word, I say that in all the cuteness in the world. Randomly she would shout out silly sounds and sing her sentences to me instead of “talking” them. Audrie loved being close to you, snuggles in bed with her favorite drink and snack, her notepad and a movie going was her mood. The sweetest little Peanut on the planet, gone too soon and will never be forgotten. Our Audzilla, our Audge Podge, our Audrie Quinn we will never stop thinking about you babygirl, we will love you until the end of time. To the Moon and Back, Always & Forever.
Audrie leaves to cherish her beautiful memory her Mommy, Mary Souder (Haley Cooper), her Daddy John Fortner (Jamie Rodriguez), Grandma April Bowen, Grandpa Brent Bowen, Uncle Jackson Bowen, Mamaw Shelby Allen, Aunt Tanya Johnson (Don), Logan Johnson (Tyler) and unborn cousin Laiken Green, Debra & John Pesero, Uncle J and Uncle Ryan Scott, Nonnie and Peepaw Beverly and Don Bowen, Aunt and Uncle Rachel and Rich Rolback, Cousins Reece and Randon, and her beloved dog Zetsu.
"Written with so much love and a broken heart, always in my mind and soul. Published on the day of the Strawberry Moon, while influencing your emotions, on this day/night let this full moon light your way through the darkness. Love, Mommy."
