Mr. Ben Houston Price

Price, Ben H., age 79, of Knoxville, formerly of Charlotte, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday January 8, 2015. He was preceded in death by: parents Joseph Arthur and Ola Lemmonds, sister Irene Helms, and brothers: Clyde, Niven and Hunter. Ben will be remembered by many friends and extended family members as a gentle and loving man who was a wonderful example of selflessness and love. He was a deeply committed Christian and was active in numerous churches throughout his life. Most recently, he was a member and deacon at West Hills Presbyterian Church in Knoxville. He served formerly as a lay leader at Blair Road Methodist Church in Mint Hill, NC. The things that gave him the most joy in life were his church work and his family. Ben embraced life with a positive attitude and a wonderful sense of humor. He enriched the lives of all those who know him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Irene; brothers Grady and David; daughters: Angie (Tom) Alford and Robin Rollins; and grandchildren Ashely and Patrick Rollins. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 10th from 1-2 PM at West Hills Presbyterian Church with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2:00 PM, Rev. John Mackenzie and Rev. Merrill Perkins officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2:30 PM on Sunday at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery for the interment service.
