B.J. Nabors

NABORS, BARBARA JO BOWERS of Knoxville passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014. Known to her family and many friends as “BJ”. Born September 7, 1943 to the late Joe and Cecil Bowers. Preceded in death by her sister, Carol Jean; brother-in-law, Townie Anderson; father and mother-in-law, Laroy and Janet Nabors; brothers-in-law, Johnny and Jack Nabors. Survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, David Wayne Nabors; daughter Sherry Jo Brown; son and daughter-in-law, David and Miki Nabors; precious grand babies, Heather, Morgan and Jamie Wayne; extended family members, Chuck Anderson and Joe and Mary Jane Anderson. Also mourning her passing are family members, Shannon and Beverly Nabors, Shirley Helton, Alice and Riley Williams, Kay and Bill Hooks, Dennis and Connie Nabors and many nieces and nephews. She and Wayne developed lasting friendships with many including Doris and Sammy Robinson and David and Brenda Woods. BJ enjoyed spending time with her husband, family and friends especially her grandbabies. She loved the outdoors, whether it is camping, cookouts or just a good old fashion gathering around the fire.
