Charles Bernard Dunlap

Dunlap, Charlie “Bernie” 68 of Seymour, TN went Home to be with Jesus Wednesday, September 14, 2016. He was born in Knoxville, TN to the late Charles (Bud) Dunlap and Angeneta Van Dyck Bolton. Charlie was a veteran of the US Navy serving from 1966-1970 and retired from Reeder Chevrolet in 2010. He began his racing career in 1970 and many will remember him at Atomic Speedway, 411, and many other local tracks. After nearly 46 years of racing and thousands of laps, Charlie has made it to Victory Lane. He is preceded in death by parents, grandparents, Ben and Rushie Dunlap. Charlie is survived by wife, Connie Dunlap; son, Gary Jenkins, daughter-in-law, Penny of Knoxville, TN; daughter, Ellen Mahaffey; son-in-law, Mike Mahaffey of Seymour, TN; grandsons, Ryan and Kanan Hood, Rick Long; granddaughter, Kendra Craig; brothers, Paul and Dale Dunlap and a host of extended family. Family will receive friends Saturday, September 17th from 5-7pm with funeral service immediately following at Berry Highland South on Simpson Road. Burial will be Sunday, September 18th at 10am at Berry Highland South.
