Daryl Glen Dial, age 60, of Knoxville, was one of God's own prototypes, his kindness and gentleness made him a rarity in the truest form, especially in today's fast-paced world. On Sunday, March 13, his kind soul was released back to heaven after he lost a short battle with cancer. Born July 9, 1955, Daryl personified the loyalty to God prescribed by the Bible and maintained his faith through the highs and lows of his life, including his tumultuous and untimely battle with cancer. He didn't bat an eye when he received his diagnosis, yet let his faith carry him out of this world with much dignity. His spiritual firepower was mirrored by his passion for guns and rifles, which was one of his favorite hobbies throughout his life, along with tinkering with automobile engines and fixing up vintage vehicles. Daryl's love of guns and cars was far overshadowed by his love of his children, Arie Dial and Jeremy Dial, who survive him. He is also survived by his wife, Janet Dial, and step mother Liz Dial, and by his sisters, Deneal Branch (and husband Darrell), Teresa Dial, and Kelly Kitts (and husband Albert) and brothers Bill Dial, Jr., (and wife Shellie), Randall Cheatham (and wife Joette), and Jimmy Cheatham (and wife Crystal). Daryl is also survived by his grandsons Cody and Cameron Lockard. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Dial, his mother Melba Cheatham and his sister Donna Heaton. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Berry Highland South Funeral Home. Family and friends will gather an hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Daryl's memory to Church of God Home for Children (http://carecampus.org) or the American Cancer Society.
