David Hamman II, age 77, of Niota, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021. He was born October 29, 1943 in Lindale, Texas. David attended San Jacinto Junior College in Houston. He spent most of his professional life in sales with later years working as a contractor providing military troop support for KBR in Afghanistan. He entered the United States Marine Corps on January 15, 1963 and proudly served his country as a Marine in Vietnam until January 14, 1969. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He loved to fly his 1948 Luscombe and hang out at the hangar with his flying buddies. David married Sue Gibson Schoellkopf on May 14, 1983 in Houston, TX. He was a happy man and his love of life was huge. He had an incredible deep belly laugh! He loved the Blues and was always picking up his guitar trying to learn to play like Clapton. If his guitar wasn't within reach, there was always an air guitar. David loved his boats, fast or slow, it didn't matter. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and shooting; but especially loved his Harleys and riding with his wife, brother-in-law and sister-in-law any chance he could. David could sit for hours and "shoot the breeze" about nothing in particular or about anything you wanted to talk about. His favorite was "garage talk" always brought a special smile to his face when you would mention it to him. He enjoyed cranking up the music, putting steaks on the grill and spending time with the good company of his friends. He was a man of many "witty sayings." One of his favorite saying was "he ate a bowl of stupid for breakfast." And never, ever say "Ex-Marine." It's "once a Marine, always a Marine." David loved his dogs, Bear, Charlie, Cody, Cher, Cassie and Jasmine. He will forever be in our hearts. He has earned his wings! Fly with the angels and soar with the eagles. Oohrah!
